People everywhere are looking for stability, peace, and purpose in their families. Yet for many today, family life feels increasingly fragile, even hostile. Broken relationships, cultural pressures, and emotional turmoil have left many wondering what a healthy home looks like and whether family still matters in this day and age.
In every culture, the details may differ, but the struggles are often similar. Marriages face pressure from expectations. Parents feel uncertain about how to guide their children. Young people grow up confused, unable to understand what a healthy family is.
Family still matters; it was God’s idea
Amid this confusion, the Bible provides something truly clear: family was God’s idea because He is a Family Man.
Before Scripture discusses marriage, it reveals God as Father. From the beginning, God wanted to build a family with His children who would know Him and walk with Him. When we understand this, we see that family isn’t just a social or cultural institution; it’s part of God’s plan.
Through Jesus Christ, believers are welcomed into God’s household. From that relationship, everything else flows: how we treat one another, how marriages work, how children are raised, and how the church becomes a spiritual family.
Family is not a problem to be solved

Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching these principles in church training settings, including Leadership Academies, where pastors and leaders gathered to study the foundations of family life. Many attendees came from backgrounds in which family structures had been damaged or lost. As we explored Scripture together, something began to happen: people started to see family in a new light.
Practices once accepted as normal were reevaluated. Biblical principles started to reshape expectations, and many realized that God’s design for the family is not a problem to be solved but a gift to be enjoyed.
Family First workbook works for all
In response to those teachings, I have organized them into a workbook titled Family First: Rediscovering God’s Design for the Home.
This eight-session study explores topics such as:
- God as Father
- Who is part of the family of God
- Singles in God’s family
- Husbands and fathers
- Wives and mothers
- Putting all the pieces to work together
The workbook can be used for personal study, small groups, or church teaching.
If you would like to explore these ideas further, you can find the workbook here:

The workbook is offered as a pay-what-you-can, if you can resource. If you are able to support the work, thank you. If not, feel free to download it and be blessed.
God is a Father first
Healthy families build healthy churches. Strong homes provide stability for children and communities. When families learn to walk with God together, they reflect something beautiful about Him that we often forget: He is a Father first.
You are welcome to join me in walking with the Father and discovering the joy that awaits those who dare to put family first.
