Introducing a most unusual read

For all the newcomers, I would like to take a moment to welcome you to A Cultural Shift, a most unusual blog. I hope the content encourages you to explore your relationship with God more deeply. Read on to start your journey with me.

In today’s fast-paced world, many individuals seek deeper connections, and I believe exploring one’s faith can be a transformative journey. Each blog post serves as a stepping stone for readers to reflect on their beliefs and actions, encouraging a personal and communal exploration of spirituality.

The stories I share here are not just anecdotes but reflections of a life lived with purpose across various cultures. For instance, while volunteering in a small village, I witnessed how faith brought people together, reinforcing that love knows no boundaries.

This may be one of the most unusual collections of blog entries you’ve read. I hope the stories within these entries capture your attention and encourage you to delve deeper. As you read, it will become increasingly clear that much of what you’ll find here comes from an international perspective. Having spent most of my life working across cultures, my worldview is a blend of diverse perspectives. Living this way has allowed me to see beyond cultural blinders, resulting in a unique reading experience.

Imagine the ripple effect we could create! Just as Jesus reached out to the marginalized, we too can extend our hands to those in need. Consider a scenario where we organize community outreach programs that embody these principles. By serving others, we uplift our communities and reflect Christ’s love in tangible ways.

Dreams can manifest in unexpected ways. I remember a moment when, during wartime in Burundi, I was compelled to help young street children. They were lost; the war had separated their families. They were utterly hopeless until we gave them a meal and a shower. Their hope was lit, and slowly their eyes began to sparkle with life.

Imagine making a difference

I appreciate you being here more than you know. I hope A Cultural Shift will inspire you nd others to chase your faith dreams, whatever they may be or wherever they may take you. Myself, I find myself in far-off lands chasing a calling I’ve felt most of my life. There’s nothing else I’d rather do.

Jesus Himself lived in a country that was foreign to His own, yet He managed to make an eternal impact. The messages He taught resonate with us today through God’s Word, which is a unique reading. Jesus dedicated His life to living the principles He preached. I wonder what might happen if people embraced His kind of living. If we viewed ourselves as foreigners on this earth, imagine the impact we could have on the Kingdom! The biases of culture and politics would fade away. If we could only keep our focus, like He did, on making a difference for His Kingdom, the results could be transformative.

Dreaming most unusual dreams

I always dreamed of far-off lands—places that weren’t necessarily exotic but held the wonder and mystery of God’s plan. Even from a young age, I knew God’s dream was worth pursuing. I am very aware of how honored I am to have lived to see what I have seen. It’s my hope that A Cultural Shift will stir you to believe in the dream God placed in you because the dream is real.

So what do you dream of doing in life for God’s Kingdom? What are the dreams that catch your attention and draw your interest? Those dreams can take you places you’ve never thought of if you can simply connect with God’s purposes which are always centered around the needs of others. I’ve learned that God can get more to me if I hold my hands open instead of holding on to what I have tightly.

A most unusual read

Thank you for spending valuable time with me as I journey into A Cultural Shift. I hope to live up to the title of a most unusual kind of read!

With honor,
Lea
