It’s no secret I love to read and study — they’re at the very heart of my journey, the inside track of my life. The discipline of reading and study is one that my parents instilled in me many years ago. My books of choice were Peanuts comics back then. I still enjoy a good comic, but I have now expanded my reading palate 😆.
I’ve spent many years teaching and writing curriculum, and last year I decided to start organizing some of that content here on The Shift. Figuring out new systems has been a learning curve; fortunately, I enjoy studying!
While I’ve become moderately (to be generous) competent at uploading and prepping content on the technical side, I still have a ways to go before I can call myself a pro.

Exploring My Resources: The Inside Track
With most of the editing done — most, because there’s always a tweak that needs tweaking — I’m starting to introduce more content that reflects my journey and things I’ve learned along the way.
New content for members
The Inside Track is a members-only page (don’t worry — it’s free!) that offers content designed to go a bit deeper than what you’ll typically find on A Cultural Shift. The Inside Track is a safe place to dive into study. It’s relevant for both newbies and old-timers. Keeping it members-only allows me to share fresh, high-quality content with friends who want to grow and journey together.
The content is divided into several sections, including:
- The Essentials – A collection of foundational truths every Christian needs—served with a side of humility, personal missteps, and the occasional spiritual faceplant. Think of it as theology for the easily distracted, with stories to prove it.
- Devotional Reading – These are a collection of personal reflections meant to stir the heart, challenge the soul, and point you back to Jesus. These readings offer encouragement for the journey—sometimes gentle, sometimes not, but always rooted in grace and truth.
- Series – (still under construction) Deeper dives into the stuff we wrestle with and wonder about. These are honest thoughts, real stories, and the kind of lessons you learn the hard way (with a bit of humor to soften the blow).
- Marriage and Family – Real talk about marriage, parenting, and everything in between—filled with personal stories, honest struggles, and biblical truths that actually stick. It’s not perfect, but it’s real—and hopefully, helpful.
- Missions (of course!) – After nearly four decades as a career missionary, I’ve learned that sharing the Gospel isn’t just about words—it’s about listening, understanding, and respecting culture. This section shares honest stories of both mistakes and breakthroughs, offering insights to help anyone communicate faith with heart and sensitivity to those around them.
- YouTube and Podcast Episodes – (still under construction) Catch the audio and video side of The Inside Track—from solo episodes to guest interviews and a few curveballs you won’t see coming. Think of this as the place where anything goes and the sky’s the limit.
If you’re looking for more in-depth resources, this is the spot. I’m adding fresh content regularly and expanding it to help us all grow as we navigate life’s shifting moments.
I invite you – welcome and let’s walk this track, The Inside Track, together.
